Alamo Clinic Opens 3 Days A Week

As the New Year begins, new things begin for the Lincoln County Medical Associates as well. Monday has been added to the existing Tuesday and Thursday schedule at the Alamo Clinic. Lincoln County Medical Associates Clinic Manager, Rhonda Wiggins, said, “We are very excited that we are able to have the Alamo clinic open an additional day.”

Since the Alamo Clinic moved into their new building in August, Ms. Wiggins said, “They’ve been very busy down there.” A decision by the hospital board to increase days of operation for the Alamo Clinic was based on the number of patients that were going to Caliente when the Alamo Clinic was closed. Alamo patients were requesting that the Clinic be open more. On average, Alamo has been handling 20-25 patients a day. “We just felt it was time to go ahead and kick it up,” she said.

Those on the medical staff of Lincoln County Medical Associates include:
R. William Katschke M.D.
He is well known throughout Lincoln County. He was Lincoln High Valedictorian in 1989. He has been the Medical Director of Grover C. Dils Medical Center since July 2003. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice. He was chosen as Clarkson Family Medical Resident Physician of the Year 2002-2003. His work includes supervising three Physician Assistants and one Nurse Practitioner.

Dr. Katschke is married and has five children. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing the piano, harmonica and basketball.

Mark E. Wilbur PA-C
Moved to Lincoln County in July 2004. He started working for Grover C. Dils Medical Center at that time. He became a Registered Nurse in 1994 and worked in ICU, Burn Trauma, and Thoracic. He was also a flight nurse. He became a certified Physician Assistant in 2002. He divides his time between both the Caliente and Alamo clinics.

Mark is married with three children. He enjoys family time, hiking, mountaineering and orienteering.

Douglas M. Rather PA-C
Lives in Cedar City, Utah. He started working for Grover C. Dils Medical Center in June 2007. He graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1995 and ran his own office until 2004. He went on to graduate in 2007 as a Physician Assistant and works fulltime at the Caliente Clinic.

He is married with three children. He has built his own plane and likes to fly. He also enjoys working on antique cars.

Brian W. Stark PA-C
Lives in Alamo. He served as an Army combat medic on a HALO team with the 5th Special Forces Group. He was also an emergency department paramedic in Columbus, Ohio. He came to the Alamo facility for 6 months during his Physician Assistant training rotation. After graduating as a PA in October 2007, he came to work in Lincoln County. He is employed full-time at the Alamo Clinic

A single man, Brian enjoys cooking and watching movies.

Cindy Etzler APN
Lives in Modena, Utah. She is likely to be known to many members of the community because she has worked at Grover C. Dils Medical Center as an RN part-time since 2001. She graduated from nursing school in 1978. She has since received her Master of Science degree in nursing with a specialty in Family practice. She is also board certified as an emergency nurse. She is currently working part time at the Caliente clinic. Cindy is happy to offer to the community the option of a female practitioner.

Cindy is single and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She enjoys traveling and motorcycle riding.
