Team execution and poise are usually a winning combination. With Jadey Jones on the bench with two fouls for most of the first half, the PVHS girls showed that combination of poise and execution to take a 49-35 win over Mountain View January 11.

Coach Amy Huntsman said the victory was the effort of strong team play. “There were seven other kids who really stepped up,” she said. “I feel it was truly a team effort, everyone stepped up. We were playing well as a team and that I’m really happy to see.”

Jadey Jones was game high with 19 points, all of which came in the second half and added 10 rebounds. Mary Higbee had three 3-point shots and finished with 15 points. Lauren Leavitt tallied 10 points and eight rebounds.

Randall Van Kempden finished with 16 points for Mountain View. Megan Smith had 12 points. However, the Saint’s leading scorer, Ellie Markquardt was held to only five points.
