PVHS girls have two easy ones
By Dave Maxwell, Staff Writer
Two relatively easy games for the Lady Panthers January 18 and 19, kept them at the top of the NevadaPrep.com standings for 1A girls teams, even with a non-league loss to Pahrump. In the 1A, Southern league, Alamo’s 51-20 blowout of Laughlin followed by an equally good 53-30 thumping of Lake Mead, helped cement their present standing.
At Lake Mead on Saturday, Jadey Jones scored 28, and the Panthers (18-4) used a 25-6 run in the third quarter to pull away. Jocelyn Cox and Jenna Willis each had 10 points for Lake Mead.
Amy Huntsman said they struggled offensively in the first half, but made the needed adjustments to “come out in the second half and play the way we want to play.” That became evident by the Panthers 25-6 run in the third quarter.
Going into the remaining four league games on the road beginning with Calvary Chapel and Mountain View (16-5) in Las Vegas January 25-26, Amy said she thinks the team is playing good defense, although not as consistent as she would like to see.
