Lincoln County Donates Life One Drop at a Time

The results of the four-day winter blood drive run sponsored by the Lincoln County Communities were tremendous! “We really appreciate the Lincoln County Communities for their ongoing support of our lifesaving efforts. Their commitment to taking an active role in assuring an adequate blood supply truly benefits everyone that lives and works in their communities,” said Laura Alvarado, United Blood Services - Donor Recruiter. “Please extend our gratitude to all who assisted in this important community service. Patients hospitalized for illness and injury rely on all of us to insure blood is always available when it is needed.”

Lincoln County Communities donated a grand total of 115 units of lifesaving blood at the winter blood drives! Here are the individual community results provided by United Blood Services - all communities exceeded their goals!

Pioche Community: January 14, 2008
7 new donors
22 donors gave one pint of whole blood
1 donor gave one pint of double red blood cells (automated procedure)
24 units of life-saving blood were collected at this blood drive!

Panaca Community: January 15, 2008
18 new donors
28 donors gave one pint of whole blood
5 donors gave one pint of double red blood cells (automated procedure)
38 units of life-saving blood were collected at this blood drive!

Caliente Community: January 16, 2008
11 new donors
17 donors gave one pint of whole blood
5 donors gave one pint of double red blood cells (automated procedure)
27 units of life-saving blood were collected at this blood drive!

Alamo Community: January 17, 2008
15 new donors
20 donors gave one pint of whole blood
3 donors gave one pint of double red blood cells (automated procedure)
26 units of life-saving blood were collected at this blood drive!
