Obituary Notice
for
Lucille Banks Price
March 31, 1926 - January 10, 2008

Lucille Banks Price passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2008 in Cedar City, Utah. She passed away after an extended illness from an injury she sustained in February 2007.

Lucille was born on March 31, 1926 in Milford, Utah to John Raymond Banks and Gwendolyn Jones Banks. She joined their loving family as the little blonde sister of her older red-headed sister, Audrey.

Lucille was raised in Minersville, Utah where she enjoyed the company of her grandparents, a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins. Her family later moved to Caliente, Nevada where her father was employed with the Union Pacific Rail Road. She attended elementary school in Caliente and graduated from Lincoln County High School in Panaca, Nevada in 1944.

Her father Raymond Banks tragically passed away when she was 16 years old. That was a turning point in her life. After she graduated from high school she and her mother Gwendolyn moved to Salt Lake City where there was more opportunity for education and employment. This was a hard time in Lucille's life, which taught her faith, self-reliance and perseverance.

After WWII, she married her high school sweetheart, Preston Robert Price on July 22, 1947 in the St. George Temple. They moved to Logan, Utah where Preston attended Utah State University. Their first and only son, Raymond Lewis Price was born while they were going to school in Logan. Later a daughter Marcia Rose Price joined the family when they lived in Carson City, Nevada and their last and youngest daughter Marilyn Price was born in Caliente, Nevada when the family lived in Panaca, Nevada.

Lucille was a marvelous homemaker, mother and manager. She was always willing to work hard and taught her children to work as well. She was a wonderful cook and raised a small garden, canned much of the produce she raised and managed to keep a spotless home.

Lucille was quite a lady and expected everyone in her home to practice good manners. She was always well kept and neat.

Lucille was a great support to her husband and children. She was proud of her families' accomplishments and took great joy in sharing their successes.

She taught in the Lincoln County School system as well as in the Esmeralda County School system in Nevada. She helped with the special needs children and later taught Kindergarten. She loved to see her students excel and learn and took great pride and joy in teaching the children to read. It was her goal to have the kindergarten students reading by the Christmas break each year. She was an amazing, talented and dedicated teacher who loved her students. Many of the students still remember her as the one who opened reading and a love of learning to their young minds.

Lucille was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many capacities throughout the years. She was pleased with the fact that her son served a mission for the church as well as each of her six grandsons. She supported these missionaries with her whole heart.

Lucille is survived by her husband, Preston Price of Cedar City, Utah and her three children, Ray Price (Stephanie) of Champaign, IL, Marcia Wadsworth (Scott), of Panaca, Nevada and Marilyn Woods (Warren) of Fallon, Nevada, 15 grandchildren and 13 + great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Gwendolyn Banks, an infant grandson Craig Price and a teenage granddaughter Malinda Wadsworth.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Kolob Regional Rehabilitation Center for their loving and tender care of their wife, mother and grandmother. Also, a special thanks goes out to Dr. C. J. Thinnes and Hospice Alliance nurse Ethan Bunker.

A viewing was held at the Cedar LDS 10th Ward Chapel on Tuesday January 15, 2008. Funeral services followed the viewing. Interment was in the Minersville Cemetery.
