Agnes Delora Cottino, age 88, died Sunday, February 18, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born July 1, 1918 in Pioche, Nevada to Charles Parshall and Eva Hulse Slaughter. On December 31, 1938 she married Victor Albert Cottino in Pioche, Nevada. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1985.

Agnes was a resident of Pioche for over 80 years. Following the death of her mother when she was only two, Agnes lived with relatives as her father followed construction work. After she turned 18, she returned to Pioche where she worked for the State Welfare Department as a social worker and raised her son. She enjoyed pine nut picking, swimming, walking, cooking and traveling through the US and Europe. She loved animals.

Survivors include her son, Guy and his wife Paula Cottino of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 23, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Lone Mountain Ward LDS Chapel, 3300 N. Buffalo Drive, Las Vegas, Nevada. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Pioche IOOF Cemetery on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Noon under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary, 702 398-3600.
