Plans Moving Ahead for New Lincoln County Power Office
By Dave Maxwell, Staff Writer
Mesquite Architect R. P. Heim unveiled the floor plans and conceptual drawing of the new headquarters facility of the Lincoln County Power District (LCPD) to be built in Panaca.
The 9,085 square-foot office building along with a separate 4,000 square-foot maintenance shop and warehouse, will be constructed on the east side of U.S. Highway 93, across from the Bullionville Nevada Historical Marker.
After making a few changes to the shop/warehouse plans, power board members gave the approval for the architect to go forward with the next step of more detailed plans. Board Chairman Pat Kelly said local contractor Lee Bradshaw will be asked to look at the plans also and serve as a consultant. When those plans are completed, bids will be let for construction.
In other action at the meeting, board members approved the petition to extend the boundaries of the power district to include the property located at Bullionville. Also approved was the bid from Riter Engineering of Salt Lake City, for $22,983, which LCPD will split with Union Pacific Railroad, (UP), to purchase a Recloser to be installed at the UP tap on the Conway distribution circuit.
