Hannig Named State 2A Boys Co-MVP

NevadaPrep.com has released their picks for the 2A Boys All State Basketball Team. Kevin Hannig of state champions Lincoln County Lynx and Darra Russell of runner-up Needles, were named as Co-Most Valuable Players. Both were also named to the First Team All State. Chris Shinkle of Lincoln was named to the Second Team All State.
NevadaPrep.com also released the 2A Southern and 1A Southern Boys All League Teams for 2007-2008.
In the 2A Southern, Mike Wood of State Champion Lincoln High was named Coach of the Year, while Player of the Year honors went to Jared Lewis of West Wendover.
Lincoln’s Dantley Walker was the only Lynx on the First Team in this category, but Chris Shinkle and Kevin Hannig were named to the Second Team.
In the 1A Southern boys, Jeff Newton and Landon Littlefield of Lake Mead were named as Coach and Player of the Year respectively.
Brady Whipple of Pahranagat Valley was selected on the First Team, while Ken Turley and Ryan Hatch were placed on the Second Team.
Honorable mention was given to Alamo’s Jared Wadsworth, Taylor Poulsen and Cody Hosier.
NevadaPrep.com has not yet released the 2A and 1A Southern Girls All-League or 2A and 1A All-State Teams.
