Karl J. Hannig, age 68, passed away on February 24, 2008 of lung cancer at the Odessay Harbor House in Las Vegas, NV. He was born in St. George, UT., to Maxwell and Viola Truman Hannig, and was raised in Pioche, NV.

Karl retired after working on the Test Site for 30 years. He was a member of the Teamster Union, Local 631, and a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. Karl lived in Las Vegas, NV for a lot of his life with his beloved wife Gerry Hannig, who preceded him in death by 3 years. They moved to Panaca in 1985 and lived there the rest of his life.

Karl is survived by his daughter Karla J Christiansen, his sons: Breton L. Hannig, Brain S. Hannig, Gary J. Hannig & Von Max Hannig; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the Panaca LDS Church in Panaca, Nevada with Bishop Dorman officiating. Interment was in the Panaca Cemetery.
