Camille Sonnenberg had 42 strikeouts and walked just two batters over 20 innings of work for Lincoln County in the three-day Colorado River Softball Tournament at Needles, California March 6-8.

Lynx Coach Pat Kelly said Camille came on in relief in a 6-6 tie with Mt. View on Thursday, struck out four, and preserved an 8-6 win for Lincoln.

On Friday, Lincoln lost the first game to Moapa 10-7, but came back to beat Spring Creek 6-1 behind Sonnenberg’s 15 strikeouts. On Saturday, she recorded 11 strikeouts in a 6-1 win over Silver Valley of Barstow, CA. and then posted 12 more strikeouts in beating White Pine 6-3.

Kelly said Kori Gloeckner also pitched well and said Michele Wheatley accounted for seven singles in the tournament. Jaycie Cluff and Bess Pearson also played well for the Lynx.

Lincoln plays at the St. George Tournament March 14-15.
