Services will be held this weekend for native Nevadan Kathleen Bradshaw McDaniel Holmes who died Thursday, March 15, 2007 in Southern California from injuries sustained in an accidental fall.
A member of the pioneer Lincoln County Bradshaw family, Kathy was born September 30, 1936 in the old Las Vegas Hospital and grew up on the family ranch in Elgin, Nevada. She was a 1954 graduate of Las Vegas High School, where she made countless lifelong friends.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, long-time Las Vegas physician Jack Holmes, her four children, Susan Jacobsen, Jami Youngblood, John McDaniel and Dana Kanne, step-daughter Lindsey Nayduch, and 11 grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Betty Foley and Helen Madden and her brother Don Bradshaw as well as many nieces and nephews.
“Mom was a tender, gentle soul who was widely known for her compassionate and loving nature,” said her daughter Dana. “She remained connected with classmates and friends for more than half a century.” She was a member of Junior League of Las Vegas and was an avid bridge player.
A vigil will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 23 at Christ the King Catholic Church, with a funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Mission Hospital, 27700 Medical Center Road, Mission Viejo, CA 92691.
