Dustin Poulsen hit a bases loaded single in the bottom of the sixth inning to spark Alamo to an 11-7 win over visiting Mountain View on March 25. The Panthers scored three more runs in the inning on two throwing errors at home plate and a sacrifice bunt.
The game was the first league game of the season for PVHS. Alamo plays at Spring Mountain on March 28 and hosts Lincoln County in a non-league match up April 1.
At the same time, Coach Mike Sparrow’s Lady Panthers had to come from behind to record a 7-2 win in Alamo over Mountain View. Casey Gardner’s solo home run in the fourth inning highlighted a 4-run rally that gave PVHS the lead they never gave up.
The girls’ next game is at home with Lincoln County on April 1.
