UFO Conference Planned for Alamo

Since 2001, an annual UFO conference has been held in the small community of Rachel. This year the conference wants to shift to Alamo. Jan Sproul, speaking at the March 12 regular meeting of the Alamo Town Board, expressed the interest of the group in coming to Pahranagat Valley over the Labor Day holiday, August 29-31. The Alamo Senior Center has agreed to rent their facilities for the group’s use. Some other activities will be held in the field at night.

Jan believes the conference expects to draw about 200-250 people and will be a boost to the local economy. Some attendees will rent motel rooms and some will come with self-contained RV’s and trailers. Mrs. Sproul said Windmill Ridge is planning to have a special buffet on August 31 for the conference. She said most of the conference attendees are older people and conduct themselves very well.
