Use Your Alamo Clinic
By Dave Maxwell, Staff Writer
More work is yet to be done to fully complete the Alamo Clinic Building. Lincoln County Hospital District Administrator Jason Bleak, speaking at the March 12 regular meeting of the Alamo Town Board, said that he wants to encourage the people of Pahranagat Valley to use the Clinic more often. Presently, the Clinic is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Bleak said they are trying to reach the point where the Clinic can be open four days a week, but that will require people using the local Clinic when needed and not going off to St. George, Cedar City or Las Vegas, for procedures that the Alamo Clinic can also do.
With the hiring of a new doctor in Caliente Dr. Katschke will soon be able to be visit the Clinic on a more regular basis. PA’s Brian Stark and Mark Wilbur are currently staffing the Clinic.
Jason said plans for more landscaping at the Clinic are continuing. “We’d like to stay with the desert theme which has already begun out in front and carry that up the side of the building. Plans are made for paving the parking lot, putting in sidewalks and an awning over the front entrance,” he said. Rain gutters will also be put on the building and a formal sign will be put up in front as well.
On the inside, Mr. Bleak said new blinds will be installed as well as a new telephone system. Plans also call for deep cleaning of necessary areas to be done on a regular basis.
Bleak also said that he encourages anyone in the county who has questions about matters of concern at the hospital, clinic, or medical services, to call his office directly, rather than going to a third-party person.
