Planning Commission Undeterred
By Dave Maxwell, Staff Writer
The Lincoln County Planning Commission held a meeting April 22 amidst boxes, chairs and tables that were moved due to water damage caused by a broken water pipe in the Courthouse.
Planning Director Clint Wertz gave a preliminary briefing on the Eagle Falls planning community, one of the Toquop projects for 3,000 acres of land. However, with the disruption caused by the water damage, a staff report was not completed, so the Eagle Falls items were tabled and moved to the May 12 meeting.
The Coyote Springs Master Plan amendment was recommended for approval. Doug Carriger of Coyote Springs also asked to have his item again placed on the agenda for the May 12 Planning Commission meeting.
The Commissioners plan to meet on May 6 to hear the development agreement regarding the overall plan for Lincoln Highlands Development at Toquop. Lincoln Highlands is the largest landowner in the Toquop area. Wertz said there are still “some pretty major issues that Lincoln County has with their project.”
