Commissioner Wade Poulsen said that the rodeo grounds in Alamo will use an announcer’s booth purchased by the Pahranagat Valley Volunteer Fire District. Wendy Rudder, Fire District Secretary said the building is one-half of a modular doublewide that she found at GE Capital Modular in Las Vegas. The Fire District was able to buy the modular and move it to Alamo for the modest price of $200.
The building sits on wheels and will serve as a temporary announcer’s booth at the new Alamo Rodeo grounds until a permanent announcer’s booth can be built.
Wendy said the Rodeo Club will put large windows in place of the present windows in the center section. A counter will be built inside for the timers and shelves will be added for the wireless sound system. Wall sockets will be installed for the computers and the other electrical equipment needed, such as air conditioners and heaters.
The Wrangler Junior Nevada State Finals will be held at the new arena May 30 - June 1.
