April 16, 1932 – June 18, 2007
David M. Kuckenmeister, 75, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on June 18, 2007. Dave was born April 16, 1932 in Caliente, Nevada to Frank G. Kuckenmeister and Gladys (Davis) Meacham. He grew up in Caliente and moved to Carson City in 1956 where he resided until his death. He was married to his beloved wife, Deanna, on June 2, 1957 in Carson City and had just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends two weeks ago. Dave was a former Specifications Engineer for the Nevada State Department of Transportation and retired in 1986 after 36 years of service.
Dave was a proud and loving father of three and grandfather of eight. He had a great love for his wife and family and always placed them first. He will always be remembered for his compassion for others and his love for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Dave was also active in Little League and Babe Ruth baseball and was instrumental in the initial development of Governor’s Field.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Frank, mother, Gladys, and stepfather, Cy Meacham. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Deanna, sons, Mike (Mary) Kuckenmeister of Carson City, Randy Kuckenmeister of Reno, daughter Janet (Dan) Wilson, of Kennebunk, Maine, eight grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Kara and Kaitlyn Wilson, Traci, Kevin, Simone and Juel Kuckenmeister, sister, Avis Sheahan, of Henderson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at Lone Mountain Cemetery on Saturday, June 23, and a celebration of his life will follow at the home of his son, Randy, at 1:00 p.m. in Reno. We invite you to send a condolence message to the family at www.fitzhenrysfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army or the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center. |
