Several Agenda Items Quickly Approved by Commissioners
By Dave Maxwell
Lincoln County Commissioners at their regularly scheduled meeting, which was held on Tuesday because of the Labor Day holiday, approved several important agenda items that did not require much discussion as is normally the case.
A resolution to adopt the historical perspective review of the first 24-months of the Development Agreement between the County and the Coyote Springs Investment, LLC, was passed. Doug Carriger, Senior Vice-President for Community Affairs for Coyote also affirmed their “commitment to revise the development agreement to reflect a settlement agreement made with the County concerning taxes some months ago and also to look at amending the Master Plan that covers Coyote Springs.”
Commissioners also adopted a resolution to update the Lincoln County Master Plan and land use maps to include the Town of Alamo Community Plan. The update will include the addition of policies to the Master Plan and specifically address the Alamo Industrial Park. Commissioner Wade Poulsen stated the Alamo Town Plan would supersede the County Master Plan if at some time it should become necessary. But it would still have to go through the County Planning Commission process and County Commission for approval.
Regarding the format of the final report for the Caliente Rail Corridor alternative routes, which have been conducted by Robison/Seidler and Resource Concepts, Inc., the Board suggested that Connie Simkins, Coordinator of the Lincoln County Nuclear Oversight Program, need only to prepare, present and submit one integrated report instead of multiple reports for the Board to review. A final version is supposed to be included the Department of Energy Environmental Impact Study planned to be published in October.
