Alamo’s Annual Fourth of July Celebration

Using the theme, “Under the Sea,” the town of Alamo and the Pahranagat Valley will celebrate their annual 4th of July observance this coming weekend. The local celebration probably dates back before 1910.
Per usual custom, the celebration begins on Friday evening, July 3 with the dirt bike motorcycle and quad races at 7 pm at the rodeo arena.
On Saturday morning, there will be a 5K run starting at 6 am. A flag raising at the town monument takes place at 7 am, followed by the pancake breakfast in the town park from 7 to 9 am. Prices are $5 for adults, $3 children, or $15 per family.
The parade begins in the center of town near the town park at 9 am. Parade chairperson is Michelle Higbee.
In the park Saturday, there will be booths, crafts, children’s games, a classic car show and other activities starting at 10:30a.m. and continuing throughout the day.
A3-on-3 basketball tournament will be held at the high school gym during the day until about 6 pm.
The annual barbeque dinner in the park begins at 6 pm. Prices are $5 for adults, $3 children, or $25 per family.
The annual alumni baseball game and home run derby will be at the baseball field from 7 - 9 pm.
Conclusion of the day’s activities will be the fireworks show at the town park around 9 pm.
