John Willard Turley
John Willard Turley, 78, of Pioche, Nevada passed away in Cedar City, Utah at Kolob Regional Care and Rehab. John was born August 13, 1931 in Minersville, Utah to Marion and Mae Turley. John's family moved to Pioche when he was very young. John lived in Pioche, Ely and Las Vegas during his lifetime. John accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in l959 and was baptized in the Valley Baptist Church in North Las Vegas. John entered military service with the US Army on January 9, 1952 for his first time of active duty. He finished his 2nd period of active duty on December 16, 1955. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal his 1st tour of duty. John received the Korean Svc Medal w/3 Bz Svc Stars, UN Svc Medal, Combat Inf Badge, Purple Heart, National Defense Svc Medal his second tour of duty. Wounds he received in Korea as a result of action with the enemy forces were shrapnel metal several times. John is preceded in death by his parents Marion and Mae Turley, sister Nettie Mae Leonard, brothers David and Timothy Turley. John is survived by his two sisters, Patricia Sears of Pioche; Lila Terry of Elko, Nevada and one brother, Michael Turley of Rapid City, South Dakota. Services will be held at the Berean Baptist Church.
