Marissa Smerek scored 18 points and Melanie Florence added 11 for the Lady Lynx (15-6, 7-2).

White Pine took a 24-15 first quarter lead, and at times had the lead as high as 14 points, before Lincoln rallied late in the game.

The Lynx did close within 50-49 on a three-pointer by Smerek with 2:51 left in the game. But Alex Hall and Sami Scott went to work, with four points each, as the Bobcats pushed the lead back to six points. Michelle Wheatley's three-point shot with two seconds left only made the score look closer.

Bobcat coach Jeff Cramer said not getting in foul trouble made all the difference for his team this time. "And I think part of it is playing at home. When we're at home we have the advantage and when Lincoln's at home, they have the advantage."

Lincoln and White Pine both still have to play league leader and unbeaten Needles in league action. Lincoln gets the last crack at knocking off the Mustangs in Panaca February 11.

After a game with Mountain View this past Tuesday, Lincoln plays at home this Friday and Saturday with Calvary Chapel and Agassi Prep.
