LC Power Rates Retroactive to October 1

LC Power Board members approved the final review of the cost of service study and rate design for the fiscal years ending 2008 to 2011. At the regular October Board meeting, LCPD Manager Mick Lloyd said comments on the study and rate design made at the public hearing in September had been reviewed and answered adequately. The new rates proposed in the draft are retroactive to October 1, 2007.

Engineer Dave Luttrell said the only change in the draft since the public hearing was made to reflect a request from Pardee Homes and CSI. A $25 monthly infrastructure charge for larger, three-phase users had first been put in the rate schedule; however, in negotiations over the past month with legal counsel for Pardee Homes and CSI, Luttrell said, a fixed rate of $25 a month will be charged instead for single phase residential, small commercial and community services, and a rate of $40 a month will be charged the larger three-phase users.
