"Lincoln County's Got Talent" Winners

Lincoln County proved its “got talent” on September 29th at the “Lincoln County’s Got Talent” contest, sponsored by the Caliente Elementary 6th grade class. Fifteen acts from all over the county competed for cash prizes and provided great entertainment for all those who attended. There were dancers, comedians, ball spinners, singers, marching ensembles and pianists. The contest was very close in points and everyone did an excellent job. The winners were: 3rd Place – Isabella and Amy Gloeckner performing a dance to the “Big Bad Wolf;” 2nd Place – Doug Charlson playing guitar and singing “When He Was On The Cross;” and 1st place – Sharee Mathews playing the piano piece “Bumble Boogie.” Congratulations to the winners and a big “Thank You” to our judges: Beth Lynn Erlandson, Jackie Thomas and Heidi Whimple, as well as Doug Charlson and the Lighthouse Church for donating his winnings back to the 6th graders for their trip to Washington D. C. Another special thanks goes to Keith Larson and Table Rock Productions for the use of their equipment. The 6th grade class is still selling tickets for a patriotic quilt and 1 cord of wood. Winners will be announced at the PTO Halloween Carnival on October 31, 2007.
