Two Boy Scouts, working on their Eagle Scout badge, have erected a new flagpole at the Alamo Annex building. Josh and Jeremy Roemer had the idea to put up a new flagpole, and with the help of local donations began making improvements to the existing structure. A new cement base for the pole was added and the boys even put in new sidewalks in front of the building. It’s all part of the community service portion of working toward earning the honor of Eagle Scout, Josh said.

The raising of the flag was held on Veterans Day, November 12, at the Annex with a small crowd gathered. Two Air Force color guard personnel from Nellis Air Base were on hand to conduct the ceremony with Josh assisting. Since the flag has a light shining on it, said Scoutmaster Ross Stirling, the flag is able to be on display 24/7.
