Sheriff Reports on New Radio Equipment

County Sheriff Kerry Lee reported to the Lincoln County Commissioners about the new radio equipment that has been installed in the dispatch center at the County Detention Center. Rebel Communications of Las Vegas installed the unit.

Work was done to put in six new repeaters on Treasure Hill, where only four had been before. Lee said it is a wireless link that goes to the repeaters on Treasure Hill. The new console at the Center, Lee said, “makes it a two-position dispatch center for when you have those big calls. We can split that up and two people can dispatch different entities at the same time.”

The additional equipment goes along with the new enhanced 911 system and has “upgraded the dispatch immensely,” Lee said.
